Mercury Program are one of those bands that gets 1/10th of the credit they deserve, i'm basing that solely on t-shirts i see of said band at my work, which is none.

for me they are a top 5 band of their genre and would be higher if it wasn't for the juggernauts that are mogwai gybe and a silver mt zion. 4 albums now and i only expect more greatness from them. i'm about to drive down to providence now to get drunk with my friend joey then drive back faster and lonelier.

so here it is in 320k, my pick to steal the post-rock album of the year

also i just watched conan the barbarian for the first time in 10 years today, does anyone else think that sunn0)) ripped off their whole gimmick from the doom children?

Thrash thrash thrash …

Well, their new album leaked two days ago, so … I still have to digest it properly, so it may not end up to be their best deed, but .. hey, it’s Overkill!
I saw them live last year and, fuck, they ripped!

Icy, malevolent, black tunes …

Merrimack, from France, recently released their new album, Grey Rigorism.
Although I have a soft spot for fast-paced extreme metal/rock, I like their somber way of making black metal and all the shades of their sounds.

Some deadly pills …

There are some very recent death metal releases which hooked my attention. They are from relatively new bands and the releases are EPs or demos, so I’m posting them together.
One of the objects posted here is by Feral, a fine death metal combo from Skellefteå, Sweden.
The other one is from the death/black band Lvcifyre from London (UK).
A third one is from the “occult death metal” band Grave Miasma from London as well.

Feral play some nice, bold, groovy death metal with very catchy and “mischievous”, death’n’rollish rhythms, like “listening to Cannibal Corpse on the Toys' N’Rus”, as a reviewer wrote on a Swedish webzine. And the growled vocals, by vocalis Hook, are excellent: deep and nasty but even I can understand what he sings about (well, almost ...). I’m posting their second EP.
Lvcifyre include two members of the UK-based black/death band Adorior. What I’m posting is their debut EP, containing two tracks drenched of pure evil, dark and unpolished death metal.
Grave Miasma, formerly named as Goat Molestör, share the drummer with Adorior. Terrorizer magazine wrote about them that “they sup greedily from the bloody chalice of Incantation and Sarcofago, staying true to the old school even as their own ritual poison seeps through”. I don’t need to add more …

Sharon and the daps

this is what i've been listening to non-stop lately heart breakingly passionate vocals from a lady who if she was 19 and less aretha looking would be known as alisha keyes 2.0, with a gread funk bros-esque (google them and drop your jaw) band behind them. its too bad there's no room for ugly people in music now besides underground stuff, the world needed elton john and his awful overbite and terrible mop top. ...BEYOOOOND THE YELLLOW BRIIICK ROOOO-OOOO-OOOOADDDDD
AAAHHHHHHHHH AHHA AHHHH AHHHHH AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

if you like james marvin p-funk nina bootsy otis motown or al green's one good song you'd love this

if not i'll upload something that sounds like katatonia or sleep in a week and you guys will be happier while you pay 40$ for records on ebay that you could find for 22$ on distro sites

i wish music like this didn't die out, or at least i wish i was smart enough to know where to find it, or cared enough, whatever i love this album and as luck would have it she was on the best show of all time austin city limits a week ago so i'm gonna go watch her strut around on stage and stare at the mole on her face and feel like i'm cultured and shit, look for me to guest vocal on the next dead prez cd called "well we got the presidency and everything still sucks now what are we gonna belly ache about"

Bleak.

Some trembled in anticipation of this album. Others with curiosity. Select few will pridefully bash. Most will foolishly disregard.

Evil dark Norsemen

Von Rov Shelter, the newest release by the avant-garde black metal band Slagmaur, from Norway.

“Von Rov Shelter's riffs have a gloomy, mechanic and manic sound. These riffs form a wall, a moving wall, slowly yet steadily, exactly in your direction. Fuelled by plodding drums and demonic croaks, it trudges on and on and on. A black mass, darkening the sky, trudging on and on and on and on.” (from www. metalstorm.ee)
