Astrogrind forever

Got the hint from the fine website Lurkerspath, which is one of the best underground webzines for extreme metal and affine forms of art, together with Invisible Oranges.
Well, for me at least.

The band is Dephosphorus, from Greece.
They play grindcore, or better “astro-grindcore”.
First time I heard something like this, but my reactions were similar to when I first heard the space-psych black metal by Oranssi Pazuzu, one of my top fave bands ever.
Fierce, brutal but incredibly, sickly atmospheric and rich in shades taken by various heavy genres (punk, death metal, sludge, black metal, grindcore) where these guys move back and forth. But still you are messed up by grindcore.
These guys are related to other nasty and intriguing bands from the quite stimulating Greek underground scene, like Straighthate, Injekting Khaos, etc.

Dephosphorus’ amazing debut (mini-) album, Axiom, is shared for free download by the band, although it is possible to buy a beautifully packed LP version of it and/or other merch.
You can read the complete review of this awesome debut on the webzine Lurkerspath here.

The tracks in album Axiom were composed in mid 2010. Meanwhile the band guys have recorded 14 new tracks for their debut full-length album “Night Sky Transform”, as well as for a future split-EP. For the new material they worked in collaboration with Ryan Lipynsky (Unearthly Trance, Thralldom (R.I.P.),The Howling Wind).

Nasty, filthy and raw

Official debut vinyl LP release by US Harassor, a “Primitive/Grinding/Black-Core/Anti-human/Sludge/Metal” band, or else “primitive black-sludge metal grind thrash savagery”, from sunny Los Angeles, California.

Harassor are a trio including Pete Majors on vocals, Sandor GF on drums and James L. Brown on guitars.
James L. Brown, aka Roach, was the mastermind of underground legend filthy black metal act Lord Foul.
They play some sick tunes halfway between raw black metal and crusty punk with evil raspy vocals, killer pummeling drumming and a muddy production just perfect for the scope of it.

This release shares most of its tunes with previous recordings, but is lacking something of the self-titled, probably unofficial release from 2008 (I posted it here, together with two cool videos).
These guys are on the underground label Universal Consciousness (also home to Gnaw Their Tongues).
The band is sharing the digital version of the new vinyl via Bandcamp for free download.

A day at the chopping mall...

"This is the infamous album that was originally promoted as being a band from the late 80's who recorded an obscure grind/gore album in 1990, but was really recorded by Maniac Neil Smith of Frightmare and Lord Gore in 2003! Here it is once again in all its gory glory!"

Flesh ripped from your bones....

"A rollercoaster thrillride of perfectly excuted light-speed blast beats, raw vocal lacerations, ripping vein exploding riffs, warped lyrics, and total energy and catchiness not seen in grindcore for years now. Birdflesh is an aural assault on the senses which requires a strong stomach and an (un)healthy twisted sense of humor!"
