comparing anyone to to the beatles black sabbath or pink floyd isn't fair; and to a lot of my friends dio was never able to escape the shadow of the colossal mountain that was ozzysabbath. but i really really loved dio, rainbow, heaven and hell, mob rules. some of the best music ever and anyone who missed out on it is doing a disservice to themselves
i don't care to eulogize anyone, but if i can say one thing. the last in line is one of the best songs ever, and it will open every summertime playlist i'll ever make. dio fucking killed it.

Mob Rules is the best Sabbath album. It is perfect from start to finish. I still listen to it on a regular basis. Horns high to you Mr. Dio.
Well said. Rainbow is a part of my regular rotation (the live in Germany double album from 76 that had been posted at Lucid aeons ago, especially... fucking 17 minute version of Stargazer... jesus fuck!) but the man gave us SO MUCH. Truly the greatest voice in metal. Proud to have seen him several times. Dio killed it right up to the end.
the heaven and hell tour last year was great, sucked being surrounded by zouffs but it was ok
