so arsonaut wants me to post something i like
so here is a recording from what could be my 2nd or 3rd favorite active band, here is the problem its a stupid fucking live double disc, i hate live cds, i really do. whats the point of hearing a band fuck up songs you already dug? only live cds i dig are live at filmore for the allmans, the ramones 8 live albums, from here to eternity the clash record and... 2 songs from frampton comes alive? seriously is that it? wait no i hate one of those frampton songs. seriously what is it with live albums. let people release your bootlegs and stop hammering your fucking fans already for every stupid little release you make. (more on that later though all of you can clearly see i'm about to make fun of torche for the 100th time)
but whatever neurosis isn't knocking down doors to release anything so this is as welcome as a live album could be for me . the genre of celtic metal could be the funniest thing ever, all i can picture are songs about reggie lewis featuring double bass and pauses every now and then to wipe the stage down. i love this band, every cd they've made to me is the best of the genre, mostly because i maybe listen to 4 black celtic bands. black celtics hahahaha kg. anyways.
not that agalloch is top 2 or 3 for me but i'd liketo just say that it irks me they'd shovel out another batch of non-new material just to do it, or what is worse it could just be for the easy check. round here we call that torche-ing. (who by the way are WAY overdue for a live album)anyways agalloch is busy making fucking compilations of their shit like they were fucking kiss or something, i wanna call them up and say "you've been around for 10 years, lets all get a hold of ourselves, paris hilton broke before you queefs" now i'm not knocking agalloch for being greedy like torche obviously is but record something new before you take a nice retrospective look at 3 cds an ep like it was a long way to the top cause you wanted to rocknroll, why don't i stop shitting on bands i like for a second and actually say non-critical things of people i have no relationship with or concept of intent.
good things: i've never seen this band live and it sounds like they are really proficient at the live show, i assume their lead singer looks like top dollar from the crow and its nice to know his voice live pretty much mirrors studio efforts, which is a fuckload more i can say about most bands. so yeah the band seems to have it together pretty well live and for a metal band to put out a double cd live it makes me happy to have a copy of it and makes me happier i wasn't in the crowd having to sit through 2 hours of pretending the guy on stage doesn't look ridiculous in that viking helmet. maybe i'm getting old but i think a lot of bands play for too long, especially sludge and postrock acts, abridged versions of songs would not be the worst thing that ever happened, especially if it isn't off of celestial or oceanic. maybe thats just the pop music fan in me liking my jams 6 mins and under at time but whatever, its not crazy to ask the same riff be repeated 25 times instead of 50. plus that way it saves time for hive destruction. neurosis is one of my favorite bands of all time and when i saw them live 2 years ago i can confidently say the time i sat down seeing them was much better than the time i stood up close seeing them. what that has to do with anything really is fucking lost on me and since i'm too lazy to go back to see where this sentence started to edit it out looks like you guys just swallowed some silly cum.
great sounds by this band live and really good crowd interaction as stupid as that shit is with metallica it sounds right when this fruit does it. he makes the crowd sound like a fucking army at times and thats perfect with this type of music, its funny though to get up there and sing about swords and conquering lands and fighting off armies to a bunch of people who just got out of their toyota yaris.
now for a brief discussion in you fucking bizarre motherfuckers that come here. why do you guys download 2/3rds as many part 1 of 2 as you do 2 of 2? its silly. either way track 1 of disc 2 is in the disc 1 pack so it could fit on mediafire. which by the way is still by far the best sharerer site thing. by the way torche is releasing a 10' for the meandethal demos, THEY ARE SHAMELESS!!!
