ok so raps been dead now for a while

as much as i like the game and... yeah that's about it for current rap music that i enjoy to any serious degree. rap has been hurting for a while for some newblood. i like pop rap but if i ever took that seriously i'd probably have to buy different hats to wear with different colored ensembles. as many of you have found out lately that rap music is kind of silly, anyone who listened to the last eminem and jay-z cd you would have realized the big names in the industry are out of ideas and have for 3 albums now. i like the new eminem cd as much as i can i guess but for every good track theres 4 really bad tracks that sound like you could take his vocals out and put in a late 90s early 00s ja rule cut and it would be seamless.

rap's mount rushmore is debated by everyone but whatever heres mine. biggy, by alot, if i actually made a rushmore it'd be his face 4 times. ok so biggy, ugk, nwa and then the 4th face would be for all the guys who showed so much promise at first and just fell apart. snoop, every member of wu-tang, bone thugs n harmony, public enemy. one or two of the greatest albums ever made in music and then they just completely shit their pants.

what happens to rap when you get successful and then you just fall to shit? i hate to type this but it very well could've happened to biggy. we'll never know, he had wu-tang success too. first album was liquid metal hot. second one was a double disc that had too many songs and way too many directions. thats the only negative thing you will ever hear me say about biggy. i love him like everyone should love meatball subs with melted cheese jesus fuck i am hungry. for cock.

so i'm told freddie gibson is the new savior of rap. gangsta rap. which argue what you want is by far the best type of rap thats ever existed. an arena would never erupt for a tribe called quest song, no one goes to a party and is like "dude some fucking intellectual afrocentric music would really be perfect right now you know, hiphop with a message man".

gangsta rap could be the most fun music ever. and freddie gibson is fun music that you can actually take seriously. now hold on to your tits because you'll never guess which rapper he's being compared tu pac. get it? anyways like the aforementioned pile of dead black mr gibbs has PILES of charisma but more importantly he has a retarded amount of talent.

as you can tell from the album name there are significant outkast influence. but this guy could be the hybrid that rap has needed. from southern california by way of gary indiana with HEAVY southern influence he could be it. he could be voltron or...he could just end up being the next name on the long list of rap saviors that disappointed everyone ie: mystikal/t.i./cam'ron/alfamega/kardinal offishall/bubba sparx/papoose/cannibus etc. etc.

anyways, this is just a mixtape, a year old mix tape. his first one, and of course like all other mix tD-D-D-DJ SKEEEapes it has annoying drops of the dj promoting his own prodDD-D-D-DJ SKEEEuct and it is kinda shitty, but if you listen to enough rap you're used to it now and it won't bother you. yeah it will.

also yes i just said my mount rushmore would have 26 faces. fuck you if i'm gonna build a giant rock mountain of black dudes i'm going all out.

my fave release of his is The Labels Tryin To Kill Me! 82 tracks mix of all his best rhymes. hardly any choruses (which imo is the worst part of modern rap)
