grails - black tar prophecies vol iv (2010)

grails is what people call psych rock but it benefits from that title by sounding not a whole lot like psych rock and pretty much just being experimental post-rock kind of like how the deftones are numetal but benefit from a different genre title so people will take them seriously. i don't know anything about the black tar prophecies, or if there are 3 other releases, and to be honest with you based on the first two tracks i've heard i could give a shit. i've been dramatically underwhelmed by grails as of late but to their credit i'm a dickhead and more tolerant people with better taste than me have enjoyed their latest releases.
i'm sure some of you may already have this, so can you guys tell me is this something i should listen to more than once to see if theres more to it or is it just another halfassed grails record to me that will always fall short of the burden of hope?
ISRAELI MELODIC FOLK METAL!!
winterhorde - underwatermoon (2010)

jaci is in israel now as i found out on saturday when i called her shitfaced and (like all people who would have a pilgrimage to israel) she complained about how much this call would cost her THEN DON'T PICK UP FAGGOT. i digress. "Underwatermoon" is easily the best album title of 2010. the very idea of the naming of this album and the discussion there in would almost be 100xs more enjoyable then whatever they released. as a bonus for this band i flat out refuse to listen to this album before i type this review. and i'm being dead serious.
i'm making my mind up that this album is a solid 5/10 which in my book is good but won't make any real impact on my life(see every high on fire cd ever)based on the name of the band and album title. the album cover looks really dumb and it in itself lost the band a full 1/10 for me just based on my bad experiences with alestorm and various other pirate metal acts. melechesh to me will always be the best Israelite metal act, which isn't a bad thing for this band because melechesh is really really good and i'm not even sure they're from israel. anyways its nice to download this album because i'll never buy it for fear of an ied being included in the packaging.
the run on sentences really have to stop
unlike the jams.

grails has never impressed me besides a handful of songs. such a shame because they should be better, as they are on paper.
thanks for the honest reviews, as always.
they've benefited a lot by the bands they've toured with but when i saw them open for neurosis i was nearly bored to tears, but then again i was with morgan and he said they were good. so again what the fuck do i know?
Thanks man, winterhorde as expected is a bit of cheesy fun that probably sounds infinitely better whilst semi-nude and drinking beer.
I want to like Grails but the sad truth is that im too dumb/impatient to be able to fully enjoy instrumental music.(apart from GSYBE!)
i can make it through anything bands can put out when it seems those bands has a purpose, the problem is a lot of bands get into post rock protocol and release the same album over and over again with no real vision or point and above all no real respect for the audience.
if it was a verb i'd call it explosions in the skying
True dat
