Abrasive.

Årabrot is named after a garbage dump off the west coast of Norway. The first two Årabrot albums and their e.p. were produced by Billy Anderson (Melvins, Neurosis, Sleep). The third full length was produced by Steve Albini. Their sound has been compared to Birthday Party-era Nick Cave, Ministry, & Captain Beefheart. If Am. Rep. had a "black metal department" they would be at the top.

Behold! The Monolith - s/t (2009)

I've only listened to this once and can already tell it will be a favorite for months to come. Alternating between the ultra catchy and completely fuzzed out, the guitars on this album are heavy as all hell. The vocals are super heavy and distorted, but somewhat decipherable.
